The upcoming year of 2020 promises to be an exciting one. Qe have continued to see changes in the Learning and Development space, and never more so than in the way that businesses are choosing to implement new technology.
Some trends have included moving away from LMS platforms or re-thinking them all together. But, we believe that you don’t have to throw out your entire system. In fact, there are some great ways to enhance your LMS for the future.
While LMS are great for businesses, they need to integrate easily into the workplace, and every member of your team must understand how they work. Because of that, it’s important that one’s team is properly educated on the purpose of and how to use the LMS as well as actually wanting to use it in the first place!
If you are wondering how to go about that, the good news is that there are a few things that you (and other members of management) can do to encourage your online learners and ensure that they thoroughly understand how your Learning Management System works.
Three ways to enhance your LMS:
Make it fun!
Gamification isn’t a luxury-it’s a necessity for engagement! You want to encourage your team that your LMS is making life easier for them, not more difficult! The goal is for it to improve their communication and help them to do their jobs more efficiently. You want this to be a positive experience, and as such, keep things fun and lighthearted.
Make your platform simple!
Make sure that your team is able to easily navigate the system so that the learning process never becomes annoying. The key to a good LMS is making sure that it’s not confusing. If they become frustrated using it they are less likely to embrace it. Start out with the basics and as you see their understanding of the program grow to begin implementing more of its features with your team.
Make it multi-device friendly.
Everyone should be able to access learning from all their devices at any time for the best possible engagement. Make it desktop, tablet, and mobile-ready. Also, not everyone is as adept at using a tablet as they are their desktop. Allow your staff to have the choice of what device they want to work on.
It’s worth the time and effort to make sure that everyone on your team not only understands how to navigate your LMS, but understand the value and purpose of it. By simplifying the process you are ensuring that everyone on your team has access to it, no matter what their experience level is.
