“Helping your company get results can win support for your training.”
– Bob Pike
This seems like a simple concept, but it’s one that is missed by a lot of L&D departments. We can get so focused on the actual training, that we forget why we’re even doing it in the first place. The “WHY” behind the training matters, because ultimately, this “WHY” should be to get results for our organization.
We don’t spend 165 billion dollars, in the US alone, every year on training for no reason! We know there’s purpose in training, but the driving factor behind training has to be results! When we’re able to not only deliver results, but quantify them and show that the training matters, this in turn only helps grow support for more and better training.
